ABOUT RUNNING FOR IMPACT

My late father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 58. He survived with the illness for
16 years until he finally passed away in August of 2016.

Because of this, I've become very passionate about the fight against Alzheimer's disease and other forms
of dementia. My brother Scott and I co-founded a fundraising event in support of the Alzheimer Society
of Montreal over seven years ago. Our annual Night to Remember impact gala has helped raise over
$300,000 to date.

This year, we just joined forces with another amazing group known as Hope For Dementia, and we will
be combining our efforts in a strategic alliance to help fight this battle together. Our annual fundraising
gala which usually takes place each November, will now be taking place in March of 2020.

But in order not to lose any momentum, and to keep up with my new fitness challenges - I decided to
sign up for the 2019 Lachine Half-Marathon. This will be the longest distance run I’ve ever attempted!

On Sunday August 18th, I will be running 21.1km in support of Alzheimer's and dementia. I'll also be
running in honour of my Dad and his memory.

 
I'm asking anyone who is willing to please donate $1.00 per kilometer that I run. So… if I manage to finish the race  - that would result in a donation of $21 from each supporter.
