Julie is a global citizen at heart. Having travelled extensively and lived in many African countries, Julie always wanted to be part of solutions tailored to local and global challenges. A biochemist by training, Julie worked in clinical research for 5 years looking at the effect of environmental contaminants on child development, before completing an MBA degree from McGill university. It is during her MBA that she deepened her expertise in social impact and human-centered design thinking, while understanding the potential of the public, private and social sector working together to contribute to sustainable and relevant solutions. Julie worked for forward-thinking companies, such as Emzingo, a B Corp specializing in leadership development and social impact consulting, where she is responsible for their Global Engagement, internal coaching and diversity, equity and diversity taskforce, and Ashoka Canada. She founded Bindia Savaria Consulting to help organizations, ranging from non-profits to for-profits, start, deepen or establish their Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) strategy or program. She is also the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion lead for the B Local Québec chapter. Furthermore, Julie is the Manager for Scholarships and Fellowships for the McCall MacBain Foundation.
