A tsunami of
aging is upon us
Millions of people have already been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and/or a related dementia and there will be a growing stream of diagnosis until a cure or preventative treatments are found. At present, healthcare systems are not equipped to be able to respond to the large number of individuals requiring cognitive assessment, treatment and follow up, and the situation will only grow more dire in the coming years.
Hope for
Dementia
is a non-profit charitable organization working to support the cause of safeguarding healthy brains in our aging population. We are dedicated to supporting the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dementia and other cognitive disorders. Alzheimer's disease, the most common form of dementia, is a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain, causing thinking and memory to become seriously impaired and ultimately resulting in loss of autonomy and death.
